Must read for every person for the sake of humanity
The corridor of the diagnostic center was full of people, either running with the patients, concerns reflecting on their face, or vulnerable meek and submissive. Silence was filled in each and every particle of the environment. But as it was just a diagnostic center there was ray of hope on the faces of people. Needle was put in my hand for medicine insertion and I was told to sit in the waiting room. There were already two people waiting in the room. A man with a turban and a lady with black veil or burka as we call it. I sat down. Being too much talkative and to forget the pain that might have caused by the test, I started chatting with other patients. I tried to smile at the middle aged lady and she returned it with nice gesture. I asked the lady “from where have you come?”
Lady: “All the way from mumbra. My doctor suggested this place as the best diagnostic center.”
I: “oh ok. How did you find out?”
Lady: “there was pain in my stomach. But I ignored it for few months. Then it increased… so had to go to the doctor.”
I: “Oh ok”
I looked at the old man with a turban with a hope that he will break the silence too.
“How did you realise?”
Man: “My knees were paining. So went to the doctor and realised.”
I: “I heard bone one doesn’t spread fast.”
Man: “it was already spread to the other areas…”
We were chatting about what we were going through, near and dear ones who were helping us.. etc….when the nurse entered the room. She connected syringe to the needle of the middle aged lady and inserted the liquid from the bottle in her hand. As she bended, beautiful sparkling cross swayed from her neck. It made me recollect the memory of a big cross I had bought from Mount Mary when I had gone there with my christian friend….
All formalities of testing were finished and I came out. I stopped an auto, got in and was going back to home…
While in an auto my evaluative brain started thinking about the incident just happened… Suddenly I realised one aspect… We were kind of people who bothered about our bread and butter. But we were doing mistake by being so, after reaching that ultimate place. We should tell the people that we hardly thought about boundaries and weapons… We didn’t think hindu, muslim, sikh, christians are different sects who should fight, we didn’t think all the people around the world of a particular sect has one mind and they have one agenda (God knows how that is possible)… We did not want to rule over other people…get more power…We were not involved in reservation that had nothing to do with calibre. For us helping and caring was natural… For us smiling at each other irrespective of our clothing was natural… For us nothing mattered over well-being of each other. I just felt we all should scream out to the world…It’s ultimately love, peace and harmony…It’s about being human…(not about the famous brand please….)
